All projects distributed by the Playground Team under this license are subject to the following terms:

PlaygroundMods Organization License 1.0 (PMOL-1.0)

  • Licensor: PlaygroundMods Organization
  • Owner: palm1 (palmmc)

All rights not expressly granted by this license remain reserved by the Organization and its Owner.

1. Definitions

  • The Software: Original mod source: code and assets published under this license by the Organization.

  • The Organization: The PlaygroundMods Organization, managed and represented by the Owner (palm1).

  • Team Member: An individual recognized by the Organization and its Owner as a contributor to the Software.

  • Derivative Work: Any modification, fork, or "remix" of the Software’s source code, or any work that incorporates or modifies the original assets (textures, models, sounds) of the Software.

  • Addon: A separate, original work (such as a Mod, Datapack, or Resource Pack) that implements, extends upon, or utilizes features of the Software but is not derived from it.

2. Permitted Uses

2.1 Modpacks and CurseForge Exception

Inclusion of the original, unmodified Software in modpacks is permitted. Modpacks containing the Software may be distributed through platforms such as Modrinth or CurseForge. Monetization through official platform reward programs is allowed. This is the only permitted instance of the Software being hosted or distributed via the CurseForge platform by third parties.

2.2 Content Creation

The creation and monetization of videos, streams, tutorials, and showcases featuring the Software is permitted. Attribution is not always required, but if attribution is given, the link must point to an official download link on Modrinth or Github.

2.3 Servers

Use of the original, unmodified Software on public or private servers is permitted, providing that the server is compliant with the Minecraft EULA and the Software itself or Software-specific features are not paywalled independently.

3. Authorship and Contributions

3.1 External Contributions

By submitting code or assets to an official PlaygroundMods repository as an outside contributor (non-Team Member), you grant the Organization and its Owner unrestricted and perpetual rights to that contribution. This includes the right to modify, relicense, and redistribute the work as part of the Software.

3.2 Internal Team Contributions

Individual Team Members who create original assets or code for the Software retain the intellectual property rights to their specific work. However, by contributing to a PlaygroundMods project, the Team Member grants the Organization and its Owner an irrevocable unrestricted and perpetual license to use, modify, and redistribute those assets as part of the Software and any future iterations of the project.

3.3 Derivative Works

Public forks for the purposes of development, personal use, or submitting contributions are permitted. Forks may not be published or distributed as independent projects or alternative versions without explicit written authorization from the Owner.

4. Restrictions

To preserve project integrity, the following actions are strictly prohibited without explicit written authorization from the Owner:

  1. Modified Distribution: The distribution of modified versions of the Software, including altered binaries, forks, or continuations.

  2. Standalone Hosting: Mirroring or reuploading the Software to alternative download hosts as a standalone project.

  3. Asset Misuse: The use of the Software’s code, assets, or substantial design elements in standalone projects.

5. Addons and Integrations

Addon creators are granted a royalty-free license to develop and distribute Addons, subject to the following:

Originality: Addons must consist of 100% original code or assets unless given explicit written authorization from the Owner. Any Addon that incorporates or "remixes" original code or assets of the Software is classified as a Derivative Work (See Section 3.3).

Platform Restriction: Addons may NOT be distributed on the CurseForge platform. Distribution of an Addon on CurseForge results in the immediate revocation of all rights granted under this license.

6. Branding and Identity

The "PlaygroundMods" branding and identity, as well as that of associated materials and subsequent projects, remain the intellectual property of the Owner. Addons or integrations must clearly distinguish themselves from the official project and must not imply endorsement from the Organization without prior explicit consent from the Owner.

7. General Provisions

Termination: Any breach of these terms results in the automatic and immediate termination of this license.

Warranty: THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE ORGANIZATION, ITS OWNER, OR ITS TEAM MEMBERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
